DEVOTIONAL SERVICES ON

THE PATH
OF BHAKTI
A group of people forms a society, a group of society forms a state & when many states are form a nation come intoexistence .We are the citizen of India & it is our prime duty to help the needy people who are the children of same mother . The intensity to help the needy people is taught to us byDr. Aniruddha D. Joshi (Bapu).Dr. Joshi has started theseactivities alone & his path is followed by us by doing voluntary service of the needy people. Truth, Love & Joy is the way on which Bapu taught us to walk. India can be considered as coin having two sides but here one side is darker & other side is brighter, so it is indeed necessary to make awakening in the society to brighten the darker side by improving the condition of the down trodden condition of the people. It is in our hand to make our country more prosperous & beautiful.
Following are the activities carried out by our Shree Aniruddha Upasana Foundation:
"Aniruddha’s Academy of Disaster Management (AADM)": is a charitable organization incorporated in April 2005 with‘Disaster management’ as its principal object .It is the culminationof Dr .Anirudhha.Joshi divine foresight & vision that has given concrete shape to the idea of having an academy of disaster management that would impart basic training to the citizens of the country at large & specialized training to the would be trainers, on how to cope with all kinds of disasters, both natural & man-made . The trained volunteers would, in turn reach out among the masses across the length & breadth of the country.
DMV’s rescued the people affected by heavy rain 26th July2005, rescue & relief work in
the after math of the Sakinaka Landslides DMV’s attended to bomb blast victims in the hospitals. Crowd control during all festivals & Jyotiba Yatra
Seva, Seva at MandhardeviYatra, Seva at kumbha-Mela, Shri Ganesh Murti immersion & re-immersion Seva. Cleanliness at beaches & Cleanliness Drives.

"Annapurna MahaPrasadam":
Under this project, free mid-day meals are provided to children from schools in tribal areas & in municipal schools in rural areas . This is made possible by sponsors/donors . Presently, mid-day meals are being provided to nearly 4000 students across 31 different schools in rural areas by our dedicated volunteers, who themselves cook the food & serve it to the students attending the schools . The largest activity undertaken under the Annapoorna Mahaprasadam Project is the Kolhapur Medical Camp, during which nearly 40,000 people, including nearly 7500 school children are served food in a single. Ever since the project has been introduced, there has been a marked improvement not only in the Health profile of the children but also in their attendance, leading to improved grades.

"Eco-Friendly Ganesh Murti": This unique project involves the making of Lord Ganesh Idols from Paper Pulp .These idols are made from shredded paper of ‘Ramnaam’ notebooks used by the devotees, who write ‘Ramnaam’ and deposit the notebooks in Aniruddha’ Universal Bank of Ramnaam . These idols Disintegrate easily upon submersion in water, as compared to idols made from plaster-of-Paris, which takes longerperiod to disintegrate. A notable aspect is that,paints used are non-Toxic, thus control over pollutionintheyear 2008 the organizations Prepared-3500 Lord Ganesh idol.

"Medical and Healthcare Camp": For the welfare of the people in rural areas, medical camps are being conducted in a backward area of Kolhapur District, covering nearly 200 villages.
The medical team comprise of Physician, Opthalmologists, Dentists, Paediatricians, Gynaecologists, Ent surgeons Cardiologists, Orthopaedicians and General Practitioners.
Although the camp is held for one day, the Planning commences months in advance. During the concluded 2008 mega medical camp, 16300 villages, including 7634 school children, benefited from the camp.
Major Activities of the Camp:
. Free medical check-up of 16,300 villagers
. Distribution of medicines free of cost, to the villagers and distribution of medicines, tonics, syrups etc. to school going children twice during the year.
. Distribution of used clothes to villagers and 2 sets of uniforms to school going children. During the2008 camp, 15268 sets of uniforms, which were stitched from the cloth prepared under the Charkha Yojana, were distributed to 7634 students.
. Distribution of caps, slippers, sports materials for school children
. Distribution of hygiene material such as water purification liquid, anti-lice lotion, toothpowder, Soaps, combs, etc. and to make the village people aware about the importance of hygiene in their Day-to-day life. This year, the above mentioned material was distributed among 3600 families from 34 remote villages situated within a specified radius of the camp site.

"Blood Donation Camps": A Mega Blood donation Camp is Organized once a year. In the last camp held on 4th May 2008,23 reputed blood banks of major Government and Municipal Hospitals participated. In all, 2866 bottles of blood were collected.56 doctors and 37 paramedical personnel also voluntarily participated in this event. The Government of Maharashtra Felicitated the Foundation for its commendable achievement.

"Aniruddha’s Bank For The Blind": As the name suggests, thisis a bank, but one that Stands apart from the rest. This is a knowledge bank that stores knowledge in the form of Audio Cassettes/CDs for the benefit of the visually challenged. Audio Cassettes/CDs Based on the academic curriculum areprepared & given to the visually challenged students of various blind schools & colleges. The project has been targeted to reach out to the entire country over the next threeyears. To date this project has reached out to the needs of such reputed charitable institutions for the visually challenged, such as “The Kamala Mehta School for the Blind”, So far morethan 30000 Cassettes & 3000 CDs have been distributed to variousschools & institutions, free of cost , all over India& other countries. Till date, nearly 65000 students have benefited from theserecorded audio books.

“Clothing with Charkha” (Charkha Vastra Yojana): Even today there are many children, not just in villages but also in cities, who do not have enough clothing to cover theirbodies. As a result, they abstain from attending school & remain deprived of education. The “Charkha Vastra Yojana” has been specifically implemented to break this vicious circle of poverty illiteracy. Thousand’s of followers spin the Amber Charkha for making thread. The hanks produce from threads are collected & converted into cloth. School uniforms are stitched from this cloth & are distributed free of cost, among the students. Till date, 59085 set of uniform havebeen distributed to 24,544 students more than 1, 43,000 meters of cloth have been prepared under the Charkha project unto
March 2008.

“Round the year water , farming & fodder plan (Barmass pani- sheti-chara yojana-Gogras yojana)”: Under this scheme, people in urban areas, where water is available in abundance, grow “grass” in their houses & in open space. It is possible to have a yield of sugarcane, wheat, rice & maize between 3-4 times a years. The grass so collected is sent to farmers in the droughts stricken areas to feed their cattle.



"Raddi (used paper) project” : Instead of selling old/used ewspapers/magazines/notebooks have scrap; donate the same to the foundations. These are thenconverted into such useful articles, asPaper bags, which not only go a long In solving the plastic bag problem. Paper pulp made from these paper is use to make articles such as word chart, Toys & alphabetical blocks,
which are distributed to poor students .

“Old is Gold”: The Foundation collects used (but not torn ) clothes, old utensils, old Textbooks & blank pages of note books (to make new note books) & old toys (non-battery operated) & many more. These articles are properly serviced & then distributed to the families of poor students in order to encourage them to send their children to school. Thus far, around 7, 84,000 pieces of different types of clothes & 3, 00,000 utensils have been distributed to more than
2, 00,000 needy people.

“The Warmth of Love Project” (Maayechi Oob Yojana):Torn or pieces of cloth are collected by followers & converted into Quilts, which are than gifted to needy workers, students ,women & old persons. So Far 2148 pieces of quilts have been prepared & distributed.

“The Light Of Knowledge Project (Vidya Prakash Yojana)”:
Under this program, Candles & match boxes donated by followers
are distributedfree of cost to poor students in rural areas, where
there is no supply of electricity, thus enabling them to study in candle light.


"Ahilya Sangh Project" :The Ahilya Sangh has been form for suitably equipping women with the requisite strength & resolve to counter any exploitation & to face any adversitywithfortitude. All Indian Martial Arts needed for the self protection of women have been taught. The Ahilya Sangh also undertakes tree plantation projects.

“Bhartiya Bhasha Sangam”: Out of all streams of knowledge of language is considered supreme, which is why the foundation has been carrying out a project of the study of various languages.

“The Institute of Studies of Five Continents”: The studyof the world around us only helps in doing a meaningful self-introspection. This Institute will produce social Scientists in order to bring the disparate communities of the world together.

"Work in Mental Hospitals & Orphanages": Volunteers of the Foundation, regularly visit mental asylums at Thane, Pune &Ratnagiri, along with local doctors & attend to patients with varying aliments. Due to their physical handicap & help they regain their lost confidence. Reforming Juvenile Delinquents-This activityis carried out at the David Sassoon School for Juvenile Delinquentsat Matunga, Mumbai. The volunteers perform the following sevas- Jaap & Upasana, Conducting regular classes for students, Distribution of sweets during festivals, Periodic medical examination & provision of medicines, Special tuitions for SSC students, Physical Training.

"Work in Hospitals": The volunteers of the organization assist the staff of TATA Memorial Hospital & Nair Hospital in Mumbai, as well as Sassoon Municipal Hospital, Pune, their day-to-day work.

"Mobile Medication Facilities" :With the help of trained doctors, offers free medical Aid to the poor & under-privileged in Mumbai.

"De-addiction centers": A combination of spiritual & medical therapy is used for the Treatment. The prayer & meditation gives mental strength & fortitude to those who seeks de-addiction. Till date, approximately 2750 people have benefited from the de-addiction programme & almost 70% have been completely cured.


"Aatmabal Program for Women" : The main objective of these classes is to Develop & enhance the self-confidence of women & make them bold enough to face any adversity/setback in their lives.

"Training in Ancient Indian Martial Arts-“Bala Vidya” (Bala =Strength & Power together)": Dr.Aniruddha Joshi is himself an exponent of the ancient Indian Martial Arts (Bala Vidya).The Pratham Acharya now trains subsequent batches of dedicated male volunteers.

"Free summer Camp for Children-DhangadDhinga": Children between the ages of 8-12 years are given 15 days practical days’ practical training. In this camp through free interaction & a playful atmosphere,children are encouraged to develop a positive & healthy attitude & to inculcate self discipline in them which in turn gives a tremendous boost to their self confidence.

"Shree Sai Sachcharit Panchasheel Examination" : These examination conducted are based on the Shree Sai Sachcharit. Half yearly examinations, based on this spiritual text are conducted free of cost. This examination can be answered 12 languages in five levels. The examination format was revised to bring it on the lines of an Open University concept.
